Hi, I'm Michelle-Jo
I am a wife and mother of five amazing children – teens to toddlers. I am also the creator of Lettuce Write, Sticker & Stationery Club.
My passion has always been to be a stay at home mum and I have been very blessed to be able to do that, but as the children have grown so has my need and desire to work as well. By creating Lettuce Write I am able to remain a stay at home mother, do something I love and make a difference.
Lettuce Write was born out of the idea of getting back to one of the oldest ways of building relationships – through the writing and receiving letters. As a child I used to love stickers and one of my cherished moments was a holiday in Melbourne where I spent days searching stores to see if they had any rolls of stickers. You know the ones, where you tear off a little square for 25 cents? I would marvel over them for days and weeks before I actually used them. I also loved my pen pals, I had a cousin here in Australia and a distant cousin in America that I used to write to frequently. My granny also used to write me letters and we actually used to play scrabble via the mail on our own hand created scrabble board that we sent back and forth.
There is something so exciting and precious about receiving a letter in the mail. Someone has taken the time to put their love into creating a special message just for you. That feeling is the heart and soul behind Lettuce Write: connecting through creativity and writing, the “old skool” way.
Its lovely to receive a text or Facebook messages for your birthday or other special occasions but nothing quite beats one arriving in the mail, hand created, just for you … that right there is the experience I want to share with a new generation of “screen-drenched” children.
As a subscriber to Lettuce Write, each month your child (or you) will receive unique, fun stickers and stationery hand picked by our team to inspire and excite them to create beautiful, fun and meaningful craft and letters.
That is what we’re about and we’d love you to join us as we’re part of a sticker, stationery and letter writing revival – or maybe you just like cool stickers and stationery 😉 – either way we’d love to be friends.
Love and lettuce,
p.s. My husband came up with the name – he’s such a dad/dag – but we love him to bits.
