Where Can I Buy Scratch & Sniff Stickers in Australia?
Do you have fond memories of scratch and sniff stickers? Maybe you were like me and you’d spend hours in stationery and sticker stores looking for all of the special stickers on those rolls of wax paper. Sadly, bricks and mortar stationery stores are few and far between these days and that means scratch and sniff stickers are even harder to find, except online.
That was one of the reasons that I created Lettuce Write, to share the joys of finding those special items of sticker and stationery goodness. When I’m looking for items to put into our monthly sticker and stationery subscriptions I love to find those items which I just know my subscribers (and I) will love to receive in their subscription packs. Scratch and sniff stickers are one of those special items I love to include in my monthly packs!
Which Stores Sell Scratch & Sniff Stickers?
As I’ve mentioned above, there are very few bricks and mortar stationery stores these days in Australia and most of these sell more formal types of stationery (which is lovely too). So where can you get stationery and do they sell scratch and sniff stickers?
Okay we are not a bricks and mortar store, but we do have a pretty amazing range of scented stickers! The ‘Dr Stinky’ range has so many different scents (both sweet and stinky 🤣) and each of our subscription packs includes a new scratch and sniff sticker sheet every month. You can also purchase your favourite scratch and sniff stickers individually here. From cupcakes, cinnamon, watermelon and mint choc chip ice-cream on the sweet side, to savoury items like pizza, bacon and hamburgers, and the more bizarre scents like cough drops, baby powder and even wet dog!
- Gingerbread House
- Sugar Cookie
- Christmas Tree
- Candy Cane
- Stinky Onion - just like cooked onion without the tears
- Race Car - the smell of burnt rubber and gasoline.
- Campfire - That strong fire smell that lingers in your clothes after a bonfire
- Stinky Fish - Smelly fish, not much more to say!
- Wet Dog - Smells like your sweet wet dog BEFORE their bath!
- Birthday Cake - smells just like a vanilla cupcake but bigger.
- Lemonade- delicious sweet citrus scented drink.
- Cotton Candy - or fairy floss, smells just like this sweet treat.
- Pizza - hot cheesy, tomato pizza smell.
- Popcorn - smells just like buttered movie popcorn.
- Sour Apple
Of all the places I thought I would find smelly stickers I was surprised to find out that whilst Smiggle sells a lot of scented toys and stationery items it doesn’t appear that they currently sell scratch and sniff stickers. You can get scented phone cases, plush toy keyrings, erasers and pencils but alas, no smelly stickers. All of those are a lot of fun but where are the scratch and sniff stickers?
Just as I was surprised that Smiggle didn’t sell scratch and sniff stickers I was equally surprised that ALDI did offer a small range of cheap sticker sheets. Available scents include: watermelon, chocolate, jelly bean, lollipop, tutti frutti, bubble gum, mango and strawberry. Not too bad if you need some inexpensive smelly stickers at a pinch.
I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of Kmart’s range of stationery items. It’s great that kids can have access to affordable stationery items to encourage them to be creative. If you’re looking for scented stickers at Kmart you’ll find a limited range but the designs are pretty cute. Most of the smells are food/fruit related but apparently unicorns have a pleasant smell even if we’re not sure what that is exactly. 😛
I found some more scratch and sniff stickers at Kmart recently as well:
- 1000 Scentos scented stickers
- 100 Scentos scented stickers
- Scentos scented mega activity set (contains stickers)
I love Office Works. I often find little stationery gems when I go. Mostly known for a comprehensive range of office supplies they do have a decent range of craft items. In these craft items you will find a very cool range of Melissa and Doug scratch and sniff sticker pads. These are more like an activity book that includes scented stickers not a pack of scratch and sniff stickers. You choose a scene and decorate it with matching stickers to create a fragrant artwork. I think that’s a pretty neat idea.
I did recently find some regular scratch and sniff sticker sheets at Office Works too:
Similar to Kmart, Target has some great craft and stationery supplies at affordable prices. It took Target a little while to get on the scratch and sniff sticker wagon but they have come to the party with this 350 Stinky Sticker Variety Pack.
I feel like Big W is one of those best kept secrets of the department variety chain stores. My husband always finds some funky clothes there and they have a great range of children’s toys and school supplies (we just did the back to school shop there). They also have a lot of funky fresh stickers there too with a few of the scented variety.
Also, take a look at these Kaleidoscope Scented Stickers from Big W.
Smell Ya Later!
So there you go. There are a few places you can still shop for stickers in the “real world”. I’m sure there are other independent stationery stores out there that do stock scratch and sniff stickers so please let me know so I can add them to this list.
If you’re happy to buy online take a look at our range of scratch and sniff single sheet stickers and our cost-effective variety bundles. We stock over 30+ different scents of Dr Stinky brand scratch and sniff stickers! If you’re looking for a sticker fix which includes a variety of sticker sheets you should take a look at our monthly sticker subscriptions too.
